Rugby History
Posted on May 27th, 2010The all-new CHSS Rugby Team played their first game this past week against an out-of-town opponent. Many classes came down to watch the historic match on Patullo Field, unhindered by the rain. The seasoned Houston team ended up victorious, but provided CHSS with some valuable experience.

Track & Field Success in Prince George

The combined CHSS / PRSS Track & Field team traveled to Prince George last weekend to attend the Zero Meet held at Masich Stadium. Of the 42 Rupert athletes who attended, 59 individual awards were won, as well as 9 team awards. Eighteen of these were first place finishes! Congratulations to all the athletes who represented our school so well.CHSS Results can be found here.

Sign up for the Milk Run!
Posted on April 9th, 2010The annual CHSS Milk Run – Survival of the Fittest is fast approaching! Teams of 5 may sign up in the main office – registration deadline is Friday, April 16.

Math Competition

Northwest Community College has invited us to participate in the annual BC Colleges High School Math Competition. The preliminary round will be held during 3rd period on Wednesday, March 31. There are two contests: Junior (grades 8-10) and Senior (grades 11 & 12). The competition is open to any interested high school students. There is no cost to enter. NWCC is offering some generous prizes for the winners!Please talk to Mr. Wick (room 215) to register.

Course Selection for 2010-2011 is now underway!
Posted on February 25th, 20101. Students attended a Curriculum Fair on Thursday, February 25, 2010.
2. Students completed a Course Selection Planning sheet on Thursday, February 25.
3. Students will bring home a copy of their Course Selection Planning Sheet on Friday, February 26.
4. Parents/Guardians:
□ Please review your student’s course selections for next year and discuss the choices with him or her.
□ If all seems reasonable, then no further action is required at this time, as we have a copy on file at school.
□ For more information on courses and programs, please go to the Publications section of this website.
□ Please call a counsellor if you have any questions. (624-5031 ext 230)
□ Counsellors will also be available during Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences on March 3 & 4 to answer any questions you may have.
□ If you make any changes to the Course Selection Planning form please return it to the CHSS Counselling Office no later than March 5, 2010 so that the new courses can be entered for this student.
A FINAL COPY of the student’s course selections will be sent home with the April report card for your approval/signature.
