Ready Set Learn
This program, sponsored by the BC Ministry of Education, is designed to support you in helping your preschooler get ready for school. As your child’s first and most important teacher, you play a primary role in preparing your child for school. Your child’s entry into Kindergarten is an important milestone in life. Beginning school well makes a big difference in terms of future success in the education system and even on into adulthood. Many things contribute to a child’s readiness for school. Training and Education Savings Grant
The Province of British Columbia recently announce a new $1,200 BC Training and Education Savings Grant for B.C. resident children born on or after January 1, 2007. To access the grant, families must open a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) before eligible child’s seventh birthday (or by February 28, 2014 for children born in January or February 2007). No matching or additional financial contributions are needed to access the $1,200 savings grant. If families already have an RESP set up, no further action is required at this time.

Unique solution supports local learning in Port Edward

PORT EDWARD – The District of Port Edward and the Prince Rupert Board of Education, supported by a contribution from the B.C. government, joined forces to create a one-of-a-kind school at the municipal hall.

Welcome to School District No. 52 (Prince Rupert)

School District 52 (Prince Rupert) is located on the rugged northern coast of British Columbia, Canada and is situated in the traditional territories of the Ts’msyen people. The district serves families in Prince Rupert, Port Edward, Metlakatla, Gitxaala, Hartley Bay, Lax Kw’alaams, Dodge Cove, and Gingolx (Kincolith). We are situated on a 22.5 kilometre long harbour that is one of the deepest, natural, ice-free harbours in the world.
